How SystmConnect handles your login and data, and what to do if something doesn't look right or you need support.
Because SystmConnect handles medical information, it's worth understanding the basics of how access and data protection work — and where to turn if you hit a problem.
- 1
Use your existing verified login
You sign in with credentials you already have — SystmOnline, Airmid, or NHS Login via the NHS App — rather than creating a brand new password just for SystmConnect.
- 2
Never share your login or one-time codes
Treat access to your health record the same way you'd treat online banking — codes and passwords are for you alone.
- 3
Know what to do if something seems wrong
If you suspect unauthorised access, or a message looks suspicious, contact your practice directly using a number you already trust (not one from the suspicious message itself).
- 4
Understand how your data is used
SystmConnect's privacy notice and data privacy impact assessment, published by TPP, explain what's collected and why. Your practice remains the data controller for your record.
- 5
Get help when you need it
For a technical problem with the app or website, check your practice's published support information first; for anything urgent, use your practice's normal urgent contact route, not a support inbox.
Tips & things to watch for
- SystmConnect holds ISO 27001 and Cyber Essentials Plus certifications, which relate to how TPP secures the underlying platform.
- If you reach SystmConnect via a link in an email or text, check it goes to your practice's genuine domain before entering any details.
- Report anything that looks like phishing or a scam impersonating your practice to the practice itself.
Frequently asked questions
Where can I read the official privacy notice?
TPP publishes SystmConnect's patient terms and conditions, end user licence agreement and privacy notice on tpp-uk.com — your practice can also point you to the version that applies to them.
What if I've forgotten my SystmOnline password?
Use the password reset option on the SystmOnline or Airmid sign-in screen, or contact your practice to have it reset.
