SystmConnect's Communications Annexe is how practices send you documents, questionnaires and fit notes digitally, and how you can reply to them.
Beyond simple messages, SystmConnect can send and receive whole documents: fit notes, questionnaires to fill in before an appointment, advice sheets, images, and links. This area is sometimes called the Communications Annexe.
- 1
Watch for a notification
You'll normally get an app or email notification when your practice sends you something through this route.
- 2
Open the item
Depending on how your practice has it set up, this might open inside your sign-in app or via a secure link sent to you.
- 3
Complete any questionnaire attached
Practices sometimes send a short pre-appointment questionnaire — filling it in promptly helps make the most of your appointment time.
- 4
Download or save documents like fit notes
Digital fit notes issued this way are valid in the same way a paper one is — save or print a copy for your employer if needed.
- 5
Reply if a response is requested
Some items are informational only; others expect a reply or confirmation. The item itself should make clear which applies.
Tips & things to watch for
- Digital fit notes carry the same legal standing as paper ones — you don't need a physical copy unless your employer specifically asks for one.
- Keep your app updated so attachments and forms display correctly.
- Some links sent this way are time-limited for security reasons — open them reasonably promptly rather than leaving them for weeks.
